The Collegium’s Origin The headship of T.B.U., sensing a need for a closer interaction of its sponsored Schools, in the Summer of 1997 formulated the "Western Collegium of Bible Schools". The Extensions and other Bible Schools were invited into this association. It was thought that the sharing of ideas, policies, and the transfer of students credits could better be attained through a Collegium of Bible School’s.

The Collegium is interdenominational in its scope and makes no effort to propagate or instill a specific Church doctrine.By design and policy the Collegium is committed to being an association of Bible Schools, not an avenue of brick-and-mortar, and enjoys the innovative freedom to develop programs for its member Schools rather than be entangled by limitations inherent in the management of property.

Accreditation Is accreditation necessary? If you are studying for other than Ministry, to become a business administrator, engineer, or lawyer, etc., make sure that the school you attend belongs to a regional or national accrediting association that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. In secular education, this type of accreditation is essential. If your purpose in seeking an education, is for the Gospel Ministry, or a related field within Christian ministry, secular accreditation is not required. All Christian Churches accept quality Christian education regardless of which accrediting group, (if any), a school is with. Secular accreditation usually results in making the tuition beyond reach of most ministers
